Dear SAS
Members,
We have
heard from a few of you as to how to proceed with this group. The thoughts
include: reduce the number of times we play to every other month or quarterly
or only during the winter months, eliminate the prizes (golf balls), eliminate
the food, actively recruit from other clubs (almost 80% of our members are from
4 clubs in the area), conduct a survey about what we want to get out of the
Club. All of these are things to consider as the group proceeds or if the group
is to proceed.
What it does
not include is anyone offering to step forward and participate in leading the
group. All these items offered require energy and a desire for this group to
continue. I would like the group to continue, however, I no longer have the
energy to keep running the group. The other officers in the group also do not
have the energy and desire to continue doing the work required to keep this
group together.
As a
result, we have an event scheduled at Forty Niners Country Club in February and
at Skyline Country Club in March. The March event that will serve as the last Southern Arizona
Senior Men’s Club event. Food will be included at both events. The Club will
contribute to the cost of each. The balance in our treasury will be donated to
a group we designate after our March tournament.
If anyone
wants to take over the group, let me know and we’ll hand it off prior to
emptying the treasury.
I’ll get the
announcement for February out today for those of you that want to participate
in that tournament.
